A Clinical Study on the Correlation between Indices related with Obesity and Sa-sang Constitutional Distribution

Abstract
Objectives: To find out the correlation between indices related with obese and sa-sang constitutional distribution.

Methods: This study was done with 38 persons, who had taken the tests for obese and sa-sang constitutional distribution in oriental medical hospital of Dae Jeon university from 22 February 2002 to 2 April 2002. Then, the data of % body fat, obesity degree, BMI, WHR and BMR was analyzed by sex, age and sa-sang constitutional distribution.

Results: The correlation between % body fat, obesity degree, WHR and BMI £¦ sex had no significance with a exception of BMR (Sig.=0.000). and the habit of drinking had no significant correlation with the indices but smoking did with BMR(Sig.=0.011). In obesity degree, Taeeum-in had significant differences compared with soyang-in and soeum-in, in BMI and WHR Taeeum-in compared significantly with soeum-in and in BMR Taeeum-in did with soyang-in.

Conclusions: Indices for obesity with a exception of % body fat had significance with sa-sang constitutional distribution especially for Taeeum-in.
